TIG

TIG

Occasionally referred to as Argon Arc Welding, this process produces an arc between the workpiece and a non-consumable tungsten electrode. The arc is generated within an inert gas shield – typically argon, but helium mixtures are also becoming popular.

TIG is a very slow process that requires a high level of skill. Power sources can be AC, DC or both. AC is used for aluminium and its alloys, while DC is used for all others.
